Update (September 3rd)

Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all back to school for the 20010/2011 school year. We have been so far blessed by a peaceful, trouble free beginning to the year and, with God’s grace, we pray that it will continue like this and indeed, get even better.

I want to extend a special welcome to our new parents. We are pleased to have you as the newest members of the John Cumber family. I trust that your association with the school will be a rewarding and enjoyable one for you and your children.

On that note, new parents are cordially invited to attend a special Meet and Greet night for NEW PARENTS only, next Monday, September 6, 2010 beginning at 6:00 PM in the Hall. Refreshments will be served.

We have had several changes at the school over the summer. Firstly, the Modulars have been temporarily relocated to the opposite side of the Infant playfield. This is to allow for the construction of a new suite of classrooms. Construction should begin within the next few weeks.

The expansion work on classrooms one through nine in the old block is finished. Our older children now have much more spacious classrooms in which to work.

The Computer room has been refurbished and all the desktops updated.

There have been several additions to our staff:

Mrs. Vera Williams is substituting for Mrs. Clark in Year One. Mrs. Clark is off on extended sick leave.

Mrs. Pamela Gayle joins us in Year Two to replace Mrs. Valrie Williams who has moved to Year Three; Mrs. Maylyn Beckford-Michelin and Ms. Jenive Franklin are our new Year Three teachers; Mrs. Winsome Wellington- Year 5 replacing Mr. Perrin who has now moved to Year 4; Mr. Flynn Bush, the new PE teacher replacing Mr. Wason and Ms. Rachel Klein, ICT teacher replacing Mr. Brendan Smith.

I know that you will give these new teachers a warm West Bay welcome.

Together for John Cumber.

J. Wallace
